Updated: May 2

Upon entering Trilliant Diamonds and Jewelry in Fish Creek, an immediate feeling of calm and belonging surround you, as well as the two friendly shop dogs, Blu and Opal. This is exactly the feeling that Trilliant owners, Manish and Kelly, have built customer relationships and their business on. It is truly an experience to enter the store, located in the Top of the Hill Shops, complete with coffee or water and an open invitation to touch and try on the gorgeous designs that surround you.

“Manish has always made shopping an event…it is supposed to be a one-on-one experience,” shared Kelly Khemchandani while describing her husband and his passion for serving the customers and visitors to Trilliant. Manish Khemchandani has been in the jewelry industry since the early 2000s and always had the drive to open his own retail store front; he was born in India and has lived in Tenerife Canary Islands, Mumbai, Jamaica, St. Thomas US Virgin Islands, and currently resides in Ephraim. Throughout his life, Manish has been absorbing the styles, trends, and tastes of the countries of his past, things that he now shares with his many customers at Trilliant.

What brings the couple to Wisconsin, or Door County, you may ask? Kelly is originally from West Bend, WI, and moved to the St. Thomas US Virgin Islands in 2012. The two met in St. Thomas in 2012 and were married in 2013. Conversations around summering in the United States surfaced in 2016, and soon the couple was planning their summer return to Wisconsin; Kelly had spent summers in Door County with her family as a child, and wanted to share the peninsula with Manish. After touring Lake Geneva, La Crosse, Minocqua, and Eagle River, the couple made their way to Door County in October 2016, and Manish was immediately taken with the pristine, quaint cities and towns of the peninsula. From Sturgeon Bay to Ephraim, Manish was in awe of the beauty and was sold on moving full time.

Trilliant opened year-round starting in 2019 as a jewelry store that catered to everyone. The name for the store, Trilliant, is unique to Manish—his father’s name is “Tri”loknath,” and the three-sided stone shape is a trillion (also known as a trilliant). Kelly and Manish discussed store names for months, with Kelly sharing some Wisconsin-specific names of things the area is known for, one being the Trillium flower. These gorgeous white flowers can be found across the state of Wisconsin during the spring, and are the state flower. Manish and Kelly knew that the combination of personal and local connections made for the perfect business name, and never looked back.

The Khemchandanis were able to expand their store in 2021 after purchasing the adjacent unit, giving Trilliant the space and updates it needed. Doubling the square footage enabled the couple to double the amount of jewelry available to their growing customer base! The feeling when you walk into Trilliant is a clean, comfortable, customer-centric experience, a feeling that Kelly and Manish hope to continue to grow in the future. The shopping experience at Trilliant will soon include private or personalized events, including champagne and
